ABI Interiors’ kitchen and bathroom fixtures find a new home at its Clerkenwell flagship, where Conran and Partners’ residentially inspired design scheme makes visitors feel at home

Australian design is known for its ability to combine informality with luxury, so when kitchen and bathroom fixtures brand ABI Interiors found a space in Clerkenwell that it could turn into a flagship showroom, it had to have that same duality. Conran and Partners’ resulting scheme sprang from a brief to make it feel like home, as well as from a need for the showroom to be flexible and multifunctional.

“As interior designers and specifiers, we were effectively designing for our own customer experience,” says Simon Kincaid, partner at Conran and Partners. “We wanted to create somewhere that felt inspiring and welcoming, but also genuinely practical – a place that supports specification, conversation and creativity.”

On the ground floor, visitors progress through a sequence of room vignettes – a kitchen, bathroom and dining room, the latter reimagined as a comfortable meeting room for collaboration. Warm, earthy tones and natural materials such as timber and marble give a London spin to ABI’s sun-washed Australian aesthetic; displaying products contextually in these real-life settings gives them more breathing space and makes the experience a more immersive one.

The staircase connecting the ground and lower-ground floors provides a moment of drama, framed by a deep green curtain, with a bespoke pendant by Chelsom dropping through the double-height void. Downstairs is designed to be more practical and detail-oriented: visitors can explore finishes and materials, while carefully edited product galleries support final specification decisions.

“This space embodies everything we believe in: accessible luxury, thoughtful simplicity, and design that feels effortless,” says ABI Interiors’ commercial director Mark Poulain. “Every detail has intent.”
