Louis Poulsen has launched two limited edition PH-lamps, now available at Nest

As the days draw shorter, so does the natural light in our homes. The ideal moment for Louis Poulsen, the high-end Danish lighting specialist, to launch two new limited editions of the acclaimed PH-lamp, designed by Poul Henningsen. From October until the end of this year only, an exclusive table and pendant version of the timeless PH lamp will be available in a beautiful brass finish with mouth-blown opal glass, now available on nest.co.uk.

Considered a collector’s item, these limited-edition lamps cast a warming golden hue, a continuation of the lighting philosophy Poul Henningsen first developed in the 1920s. His mission to create soft, glare-free lighting to warm our interior spaces has become world renowned and formed the basis of his lifelong connection with the Louis Poulsen brand.

In the same vein, UK retailer Nest is dedicated to spotlighting brands that are passionate about incorporating high-quality innovation into modern design. The thinking behind Poul Henningsen’s three-tiered shade system, System PH, still resonates today. His design set new standards regarding the effectiveness of lighting without compromising on how it emits a pleasant glow. These limited editions sit naturally among Nest’s offering of modern design classics, manifesting their long-standing retail partnership with the Danish lighting brand.

The new 2022 brass-finish of both the PH 3/3 pendant and the PH 3/2 table lamp is characterised by a golden glow. Over time, the untreated brass may develop a delicate patina texture, although it can always be polished back into the original finish. To signify the limited nature, each edition also bears PH’s initials as a mark of quality and authenticity. The inner white reflector of the brass shades radiates a diffused downward light. And while the pendant lamp has elements of a modern chandelier, intended to hang high, the charming table lamp’s hybrid size creates a warming ambience on lower surfaces, such as tables, sideboards and windowsills. Whether in a modern home or commercial setting, these lamps flatter, as if naturally extending the golden hours of the day.
